Unit Information

Unit Type: Surgical ICU (SICU)
Beds: 26
Staff per Shift:
- Day: 13 RNs, 1 Charge Nurse, 1 Patient Care Tech
- Night: 13 RNs, 1 Charge Nurse, 1 Patient Care Tech
Patient Ratios: Typically 1:2; 1:1 for high acuity including post-CABG patients (estimated)
Equipment Used: Balloon pumps, CRRT, Hypothermia, ECMO
EMR System: Meditech

Typical Patient Population & Procedures

Trauma patients
Post-CABG and Post-TAVR patients
General post-surgical ICU patients
Procedures: Chest tubes, central lines, medication drips

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Kansas
Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
Experience in an acute care setting
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting

Preferred Qualifications

TNCC certification
Prior experience traveling to large trauma facilities
