Job Description
- Provide nursing care in an inpatient rehabilitation setting with high acuity patients.
- Work in a 49-bed acute inpatient rehabilitation facility specializing in stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions requiring inpatient rehab services.
- The unit functions similarly to a medical-surgical unit; nurses assist with patient care including helping CNAs and responding to call lights for patient safety.
- Shift options: 12-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Weekend and holiday rotations every other weekend.
- Call requirements apply.
- May be required to float to a nearby satellite inpatient rehab facility in the future.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a rehabilitation setting, with rehabilitation experience within the last year.
- Med-Surg nursing experience.
- At least 13 weeks of experience with EPIC electronic health record system.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Unit Information
- Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 7 patients.
- Equipment used includes mobility aids (ceiling lifts, Sara Stedy, Sara Plus, slide boards), vital sign machines, EKG, blood glucose monitors, and computers for charting.
- Patient population: Adults requiring inpatient rehabilitation with high acuity needs.
Additional Notes
- Mandatory 30-minute unpaid breaks per shift unless otherwise approved. Two paid 15-minute breaks for 12-hour shifts.
- Staff must adhere to attendance and tardy policies.
- Staff are not permitted to stay past shift end time without supervisor approval.
- Local candidates are not accepted for this travel position.
