Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Burlington, Vermont
Contract Length: 32 weeks

Job Details

• Position: MRI Technologist
• Schedule:

  • No call
  • 1-2 weekends per month
  • Must be flexible with schedule
  • Must work 2 out of 4 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year's Day)
  • Monday to Sunday coverage, no block schedules
• Facility Type: Teaching hospital
• Distance: Straight line distance used for travel considerations
• Transportation:

  • Public transportation NOT accessible
  • Reliable personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended
  • Vehicles should have all-season or snow tires from November through April

Requirements

Licenses & Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) required (AHA certified)
• ARRT or ARMRIT license
• MR advanced licensure required
• ACLS and PALS certifications may be required depending on unit/job
• Tech Certification verification must be run within 30 days of assignment start
• State License verification within 30 days of start and upon expiration
• NURSYS verification (for RN, LPN/LVN, AP) within 30 days of start and updated annually

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in specialty (MRI Tech)
• Phillips MRI equipment experience required
• Epic experience within the past 2 years is required and non-negotiable
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Prior travel experience is preferred (not required)

Background Checks & Verifications

• Background check within 30 days of start covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Education verification based on job requirements (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree verification for certain lab roles)
• Vermont Adult and Child Abuse Registry consent and search required
• Vermont Crime Information Center (VCIC) criminal background check required for Vermont placements
• References: 2 professional references verified from assignments within last 3 years
• Employment application and skills checklist within 12 months required
• Work history verification for last 2 years of clinical work

Orientation & Training

• Bi-weekly orientations on Mondays
• Completion of EPIC and Cornerstone modules prior to start (approx. 8 hours, non-billable)
• Must provide screenshot of module completion
• Orientation includes COVID testing protocol and safety training

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• N95 Fit Mask test required prior to assignment and updated annually (acceptable masks specified)
• Immunizations/vaccinations required or documentation of exemption:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or titer)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray if positive TB test (annual updates)
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B series and titer or signed declination
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption (required during flu season Oct 1 - Mar 31)
  • COVID-19 vaccination or declination
  • Pneumonia vaccination or declination (required if working at NY facility)
• Drug testing as per facility standards (not required annually for VT facilities)

Additional Notes

• All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained
• Complete and accurate work history including bed count, EMR, and facility type required for submission
• Photo for badge required (passport style, plain background, no logos or hats)
• Auto insurance required if using personal vehicle for work-related travel
• Must review facility dress code and telephone usage policies prior to start
• Must complete emergency contact and other facility-specific forms as required
• COVID testing on Day 1 of work and mask-wearing protocols strictly enforced
