Overview

• Travel/contract assignment
• 12 weeks
• Day shift: 5x7.5 hours, 6:30 AM–2:30 PM
• Weekends not required
• Float required
• First-time travelers not accepted
• Minimum experience: 1 year

Setting

• Hospital-based Endoscopy/GI procedural unit
• Supports Pre-Procedure/Prep and PACU/Recovery
• Cares for adult and pediatric patients
• Unit size: 6 rooms, 15 beds
• Average daily census: 33
• Average visits/day: 5
• Staffing ratio: 1:2
• Required patient ratio experience: 1:3

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• Endoscopy (2 years of experience)
• Endoscopy experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• PALS issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience in a Critical Care setting
• PACU/Recovery experience
• Airway management
• Starting and maintaining IVs
• Recovery from conscious sedation
• Administering and monitoring conscious sedation
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Emergency-response skills
• Specimen handling and labeling
• Circulating for procedures

Preferred

• Pediatric experience
• EPIC experience
