CVOR Cardiothoracic RN

Overview

Travel/Contract role in Charleston, South Carolina
Night shift: 3x12s, 6:00 PM–6:30 AM, Friday/Saturday/Sunday
13-week contract
On-call: No call
Holiday call may be required
First-time travelers accepted only with 5+ years of experience
Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis if within 60 miles
Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in South Carolina
CVOR experience with 2 years of experience
CVOR experience within the last year
One completed travel assignment
BLS issued by American Heart Association
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Ability to circulate complex cardiac cases including CABG, TAVR, LVAD, Impella, valve procedures, and ascending/descending aortic cases
Experience with thoracic surgical cases
Experience with vascular surgical cases
Experience with surgical oncology cases
Experience with colorectal surgical cases
Experience with minimally invasive surgery (MIS) including da Vinci robotic procedures for pancreatic/biliary cases
Experience with plastic surgery cases
Experience with endocrine surgical cases
Experience with bariatric surgical cases
Experience with heart and lung transplant cases

Pros

Everyone was so helpful and nice when i started. beautiful hospital grounds with ample outdoor areas to hang out during breaks/lunch.Amazing cafeteria and always had at least 5 food trucks outside the hospital for linch. Friendly staff including doctors and great patients. patient to staff ratio was awesome and always had a great team mentality of helping everyone out when needed.

Cons

The only con of the area was cost of living especially rent. I rented downtown so I could walk to work but coworkers who lived off of the main downtown area on other islands complained of heavy traffic.
