Overview

• Location: Fishersville, Virginia
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Contract length: 26 weeks
• Shift: Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
• Weekly hours: 36
• On-call: Required, 36 hours in a 6-week block

Unit Details

• Combined obstetrical unit covering labor and delivery, postpartum, antepartum, and Level II nursery
• Patient population includes obstetrical, neonatal, gynecologic/medical overflow, antepartum, triage, mother-baby couplet care, and border babies
• May assist outside the specialty using general nursing skills if floated

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
• AWHONN Intermediate

Clinical Experience / Skills

• Experience with obstetric procedures such as versions, induction of labor, cervical ripening, IUFD care, bereavement, and cesarean sections

Additional Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID
• 2 professional references
• Current application/resume
• Skills checklist for the applicable specialty
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask testing
• Tdap vaccination within the past 10 years
• Negative TB screening or chest X-ray
• TB questionnaire
• Drug screen
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
• Background check and required compliance screenings/documentation before start
