Medical Surgical Oncology RN

Overview

• Travel/contract RN role in Irvine, California
• 13-week assignment
• Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 36 hours per week
• Med/Surg Oncology in a cancer specialty hospital

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Oncology (3 years of experience)
• Oncology experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ONS/ONCC
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Experience in an inpatient setting
• Experience with Epic

Key Clinical Experience

• Care of patients with bladder, kidney, breast, colorectal, liver, lung, ovarian/uterine, pancreatic, and prostate cancer
• Body fluid handling after chemotherapy
• Continuous infusion chemotherapy
• IV push chemotherapy administration
• Management and disposal of cytotoxic spills
• Monitoring chemotherapy
• Oral chemotherapy administration
• Recognition and communication of abnormal lab values
• Antibiotics
• Antiemetics
• Antitumor agents
• Corticosteroids
• Hormonal therapy
• Neupogen
• Post-surgical care

Preferred Experience

• Biotherapy
• Bone marrow administration

• Graft-versus-host disease
• Stem cell therapies
