<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Evenings, 5x7.5hrs</li><li>Hours: 37.5 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Sep 21, 2026</li><li>Length: 12 weeks</li><li>Openings: 1</li></ul><h3>Description</h3>American Traveler is hiring an experienced Endoscopy RN with ICU/critical care background for a hospital-based GI/Endoscopy unit requiring an active NY RN license and PACU/recovery experience.<h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Hospital-based, high-volume Endoscopy/GI procedural unit</li><li>Provides care across Pre-Procedure, Intra-Procedure, and PACU/Recovery areas for outpatient and hospitalized patients</li><li>Patient population includes pediatrics, adolescents, and adults</li><li>Unit has 6 procedure rooms and 15 beds with average daily census of 33 and 5 visits per day</li><li>Staffing ratio of 1:2</li><li>Uses Omnicell medication system and SBAR communication</li><li>Evening shift schedule: 5x7.5-hour shifts, 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM</li><li>Weekends not required</li><li>Floating required</li><li>Epic EMR experience preferred</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active New York State RN license required</li><li>BLS and ACLS certifications required</li><li>PALS certification preferred</li><li>Minimum 2 years of RN experience required</li><li>Required patient ratio experience of 1:3</li><li>ICU/critical care experience required</li><li>PACU/recovery experience required</li><li>Experience with airway management, starting and maintaining IVs, and administering/monitoring conscious sedation</li><li>Experience with recovery from conscious sedation and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias</li><li>Experience with specimen handling/labeling and circulating for procedures</li><li>Experience with bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, and EGD required</li><li>Pediatric experience preferred for candidates who may be assigned pediatric cases</li><li>Prior travel experience required</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Care for patients undergoing diagnostic, therapeutic, and advanced endoscopic procedures including ERCP, EUS, ESD, POEM, EMR, complex polypectomy, EGD, colonoscopy, and bronchoscopy</li><li>Support general anesthesia and monitored anesthesia care (MAC) cases in a fast-paced procedural environment</li><li>Work alongside a multidisciplinary team including nurse practitioners, CRNAs, hospitalists, anesthesiologists, pharmacy, rapid response teams, interpretation services, transportation, and unit secretary support</li><li>Orientation is 22.5 hours</li><li>First-time travelers are not accepted for this position</li><li>Local candidates are accepted at the same rate</li><li>RTO must be 5 days or less, with no time off requested within the first 2 weeks of the assignment</li><li>Former NYU Langone permanent staff must wait one year before being eligible to return as a traveler</li><li>COVID vaccination is required with no exceptions</li></ul>
