Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Cath Lab RN) - Amarillo, Texas

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Cath Lab RN)
• Location: Amarillo, Texas
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 4x10 hour shifts, start and end times flexible between 8am-7pm as cases are scheduled
• Call Requirements: Weeknights 7pm-7am, Weekends 7am-7pm
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
• Travel Experience: Preferred
• Epic Experience: Required within the last 6 months
• Holiday Requirement: Willing to work 2 out of 3 holidays if needed
• Travel Radius: No local candidates; must be willing to travel within a 50-mile radius

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, MAB, NIH Stroke Certification, CPI - as applicable

Required Licenses and Verifications

• State Nursing License (Primary source online verification required)
• NURSYS Verification (for RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
• Education Verification (must verify highest level of education)
• Background Check (7-year, including SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender, education verification)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks upon hire

Competencies and Testing

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score)
• Color Blind Testing (online version acceptable)
• Competency Exams (minimum passing score 80% or Angoff score)
• Core Parts I, II, III (for subcontractors, annual completion required)

Health and Safety Requirements

• Physical Exam within 12 months of start
• Fit Mask Test within 1 year of start (annual renewal required)
• Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with follow-up requirements for positive results)
• Immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (or declination)
  • Varicella (or documented history)
• Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, marijuana, methadone, opiates, oxycodone, etc.)
• Onsite drug screen during orientation (only one attempt allowed; failure results in cancellation)
• Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
• COVID-19 Vaccination (Dose 1 and fully vaccinated) or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)

• Skills Checklist (unit specific, annual)
• Work History Verification (7 years)

• References: 2 professional references for travel/allied/per diem acute care; 1 for per diem non-acute care (within 2 years)
