Cath Lab Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Metairie, Louisiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Work schedule: Day shift, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
• Weekend requirement: Once every fifth week
• Call requirement: Yes, 5-8 shifts depending on staffing
• Holiday requirement: Yes
• Float requirement: No
• Modalities covered: Invasive Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Vascular
• Procedures/Experience required: Stents, Ablations, Paracentesis, Peripherals, Upper and Lower Extremities, Abdomen and Pelvic, Vascular Studies, Venous Access, Hemodynamic Monitoring
• Equipment experience required: Phillips single
• Preferred equipment experience: Siemens, Bi-Plane
• Scrubs supplied by facility

Required Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Louisiana
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, with experience within the last year
• ARRT or RCIS certification
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• LSRT certification
• Experience with Epic

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID matching all documentation
• Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including:

  • Social Security Trace
  • Counties
  • Nationwide
  • Sex Offender
  • Federal Extended
  • FACIS Level 3
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Drug screen within 30 days of start (10-panel including marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, opiates, etc.)
• Employment application with 7 years of work history, no gaps over 30 days
• Skills checklist within 12 months of start, updated annually
• Competency exams (Medication/Pharmacology, Dysrhythmia/EKG, Core Parts I-III) required within 12 months of start and updated annually, with minimum 80% score
• State license verification and NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start
• Physical exam within 12 months of start (not required by facility but required by placement agency)
• Immunizations and health documents:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (Qgold/Tspot or 2-step skin test within 3 months of start)
  • TB questionnaire updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if titer low
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination (signed within 12 months of start)
  • Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if titer low
  • Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required annually (Oct 1 – Mar 31), with accepted medical/religious exemptions and declinations
• Employee appearance policy and flu declination forms must be acknowledged
