Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift: Day shift, 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM (5 days a week, 8 hours per day)
- On-call requirement: 7-8 call shifts per month, including 1 weekend
- Daily caseload varies between 4-16 cases per tech
- Floating within scope of practice may be required to meet facility needs
- Locals within 70-mile radius are not accepted
- Pending state license accepted
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist
- Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Licensing
- Must have appropriate state license (Missouri or compact license accepted)
- Primary source verification required prior to start
Orientation and Training Requirements
- Completion of facility-specific modules and orientation checklists required before or during orientation
- Annual completion of Cath Lab AbioMed Impella Online Training required
- Fit testing for respirators conducted onsite during first week of orientation (clean-shaven requirement for fit test)
- OSHA Respirator Clearance required prior to start (not applicable to some non-patient facing roles)
Health and Compliance Requirements
- Negative drug screen within 12 months prior to start
- TB test (PPD, Qgold, or TSPOT) within 12 months; chest x-ray within 5 years if PPD positive
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season
- COVID vaccination series preferred
- Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health
- Background check within 12 months including SSN trace, 7-year county and nationwide search, sex offender search
- Two professional references required for new candidates
Additional Information
- Scrubs provided
- Free onsite parking available
- Must submit government-issued photo ID and complete confidentiality and security agreements prior to start
- Candidates must complete all required facility-specific documentation and training modules as assigned
Notes
- First-time travel techs are accepted
- Prior travel experience is not required
- Drug screen and physical exam requirements are per placement standards and not to be escalated to the facility
- Candidates must comply with all state-specific background and registry checks as applicable to Missouri
This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-volume cardiac catheterization lab in a tertiary care academic medical center setting.
