Cath Lab Tech - Travel/Contract

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
• Shift: Day shift, 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM (5 days a week, 8 hours per day)
• On-call requirement: 7-8 call shifts per month, including 1 weekend
• Daily caseload varies between 4-16 cases per tech
• Floating within scope of practice may be required to meet facility needs
• Locals within 70-mile radius are not accepted
• Pending state license accepted

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist
• Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Licensing

• Must have appropriate state license (Missouri or compact license accepted)
• Primary source verification required prior to start

Orientation and Training Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific modules and orientation checklists required before or during orientation
• Annual completion of Cath Lab AbioMed Impella Online Training required
• Fit testing for respirators conducted onsite during first week of orientation (clean-shaven requirement for fit test)
• OSHA Respirator Clearance required prior to start (not applicable to some non-patient facing roles)

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Negative drug screen within 12 months prior to start
• TB test (PPD, Qgold, or TSPOT) within 12 months; chest x-ray within 5 years if PPD positive
• Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season
• COVID vaccination series preferred
• Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health
• Background check within 12 months including SSN trace, 7-year county and nationwide search, sex offender search
• Two professional references required for new candidates

Notes

• First-time travel techs are accepted
• Prior travel experience is not required
• Drug screen and physical exam requirements are per placement standards and not to be escalated to the facility
• Candidates must comply with all state-specific background and registry checks as applicable to Missouri

This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-volume cardiac catheterization lab in a tertiary care academic medical center setting.
