Overview

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Labor and Delivery (3 years of experience)
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure issued by American Heart Association or American Academy of Pediatrics
• EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Schedule Expectations

• Weekend rotation: 4–6 weekend shifts and 2 Fridays per 6-week schedule
• 2 mandatory on-call shifts per 6-week schedule
• Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed
• 1 major holiday and 1–2 minor holidays required

Unit Details

• Ratios: 1:1–3
• RN may care for any patient assignment within the LDRP unit, including triage, C-section cases, antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum
• Full couplet care is required
• Floating may be required within scope across departments, units, and facilities
• Community hospital experience is preferred

Key Skills and Experience

• IV therapy and phlebotomy
• Blood and blood product administration
• Peripheral IV start and maintenance
• Infusion pumps/drips/IV monitoring
• Labor and delivery management, including vaginal delivery assistance and C-section circulation/recovery
• Antepartum, postpartum, newborn, and neonatal care
• Fetal monitoring and obstetrical triage
• Pain management, including epidural, opioids, and PCA use
• Isolation precautions/PPE and vaccine administration

Preferred

• AWHONN Advanced
• AWHONN Intermediate
• High-risk delivery experience
• Scrubbing for C-section
• Low-risk work settings experience

• No block scheduling
• Local candidates are not accepted; home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
• No pending license acceptance
• No guaranteed hours
• Epic charting is required
• Navy scrubs are provided
