Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - CVICU

Shift Details

• Night shift only
• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)

Required Experience

• Minimum 18 months combined permanent experience in CVICU specialty (recent experience preferred)
• Travel experience in CVICU acceptable

Required Licenses and Certifications

• Valid Ohio RN license or compact state license in hand
• AHA or American Red Cross certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

Additional Requirements

• Must work at least every other holiday
• Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate medication administration exam during orientation (passing scores required)

Background and Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID required (must carry on assignment)
• Comprehensive background check including:

  • FCRA compliant 7-year search (SSN trace, counties, states, nationwide, sex offender registry, OFAC, FACIS Level 3, education verification)
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Fingerprinting (FBI and BCI) required within 48 hours of contract signing, valid within 12 months and updated annually
• Primary source verification of state license within 30 days of start
• Nursys verification within 30 days of start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming ability to perform essential job functions
• Fit mask test (3M N95) within 12 months, updated annually
• Immunization and health requirements including:

  • Tdap vaccine every 10 years (no declinations accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccinations or positive titers with boosters if needed
  • Hepatitis B vaccination/titer or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer with booster if needed
  • Annual flu vaccination documentation (no declinations accepted)
• Standard 10-panel drug screen within 12 months, updated annually (instant drug screens not accepted)
• Snellen eye exam within 1 year of start

Documentation and Onboarding

• Completion of facility-specific online training modules prior to start (must be done on a computer using Google Chrome)
• Photo for badge (headshot, shoulders up, white background) required for certain roles (not applicable here)
• Resume/CV with at least 3 years prior work history including 2 years clinical acute care experience in similar area
• Two professional references from within one year of start date (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director)
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams as required
• Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing policies for medication and ECG exams during orientation

Notes

• Candidates may start with fingerprinting results pending if fingerprinting is completed prior to start
• Candidates must use legal name consistently across all documentation
• Candidates with gaps longer than 6 months since last assignment at this facility may need to repeat onboarding modules and competency exams
• Facility accommodates latex allergies with notification
• Religious and medical exemptions for vaccines and fit mask may be considered with proper documentation and approval

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Minimum 1.5 years of CVICU experience
• CVICU experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
