Overview

• Location: Roanoke, Virginia
• Employment type: Travel/Contract

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• ACLS
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Neuro PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
• Experience with Epic

Clinical Skills

• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Emergency response
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
• Medication administration, including cardiac drips without titration
• Respiratory support, including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Isolation precautions and telemetry settings across PCU, IMC, and stepdown units

Unit Notes

• Telemetry PCU specializing in stroke and neurology care
• Remote telemetry with monitors remaining on the unit
• Typical patient ratio is 1:5, with a staffing goal of 1:4
