Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Job Description

  • Candidate will undergo clinical pre-screening to determine fit.
  • Manager interview required for final decision.
  • No scheduling requests approved.
  • No call requirements.
  • Weekend and holiday shifts as needed.
  • No floating required.
  • May care for COVID-19 patients.
  • Tobacco and fragrance-free facility.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
    • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health record system.
  • Valid Respiratory Therapist license for Pennsylvania.

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check required within 30 days of start; updated annually.
  • Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required within 1 year of start; must be finalized prior to start.
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse (Childline) Search required 3 business days prior to start; renewed every 5 years.
  • PA FBI Fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; candidate may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days.
  • Employment application and most recent resume required.
  • Two professional references within 3 years required.
  • Education verification of highest degree/diploma/transcripts required.
  • Negative 9-panel drug test required within 1 year of start (specific to agency).
  • Skills checklist required annually.

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT.
  • Fit mask testing required within 1 year of start; updated annually.
  • Vaccinations or positive titers required for:
    • Hepatitis B (full vaccine series or positive titer preferred; declination form required)
    • Measles (Rubeola) – 2 doses or positive titer
    • Mumps – 2 doses or positive titer
    • Rubella – 2 doses or positive titer
    • Varicella – 2 doses or positive titer
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
    • Seasonal Flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption during flu season
    • COVID-19 vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption/declination
  • Negative QGold or TSpot TB test within 90 days of start (PPD not accepted).
  • For positive TB results, negative chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire required.

Certifications and Competencies

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on unit.
  • Pass/fail Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 72 hours of contract signing.
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
  • Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing required within 48 hours of contract signing.

  • Review and sign facility documents including:
    • Commitment to Health & Wellness
    • Code of Conduct
    • Confidentiality Agreement
    • Non-Employee Affidavit
    • Hepatitis B Declination form

    • WellSpan Way Description (review only)
  • Completion of Learning Management System (LMS) modules on PC/laptop (not mobile) as assigned; required for RNs and CNAs, may apply here for orientation.
  • New hire orientation must be completed by end of first day.
