Registered Nurse (MS/Telemetry) - Travel/Contract Position

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Shift: Night (4 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Guaranteed Hours: 36-48 hours per week (can sign for 36 or 48 hours)
Patient Ratio: 1:4-5
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Job Description

• Provide nursing care for patients waiting to be admitted to inpatient units, starting care in the Emergency Department until beds are available.
• Responsibilities include interpretation of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, feeding tube care and management, pre/post hemodialysis management, accessing ports, blood product administration, central line and peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, PICC line management, starting IVs, heparin protocols, managing cardiac drips.
• No triage, PCA, thrombolytic agents, substance withdrawal, ortho trauma, traction care.
• Oxygen delivery via nasal cannula, face masks, portable oxygen tanks.
• Follow isolation precautions.
• Floating within the service line as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri.
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued ID required.
• Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches.
• Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
• Education verification of highest nursing degree.
• Professional license primary source verification (NURSYS for Missouri).
• Physical exam within 1 year of start.
• Drug testing within 1 year, including a comprehensive panel (amphetamines, benzodiazepines, cocaine, opiates, etc.).
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2 negative PPDs or T-Spot/Q-Gold within 1 year).
  • Tdap vaccine or declination (required every 10 years).
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Sept-April).
• Fit mask testing annually (N95 respirators required).
• Required facility-specific documents including HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, latex allergy questionnaire, hand hygiene policy, fingernail and dress code policies.
• Completion of facility orientation modules via WorkRamp (approximately 16 hours).
• Unit-specific skills checklist within 1 year of start.
• Employment application and two professional references required (supervisors preferred).

Time Off and Scheduling

• Up to 2 time off requests allowed during the contract, totaling no more than 40 hours (5 days).

• Badge photo required (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months).
• Candidates must adhere to all facility policies or risk being sent home from shifts.
