Registered Nurse (MICU) - Travel/Contract

Location: Bridgeton, Missouri
Shift: Nights (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• ICU Registered Nurse position in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
• First-time travelers accepted
• Every other weekend required
• Required skills include cardiac monitoring, emergency response, IV therapy, titrating cardiac drips, and care for ventilated patients
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Proficient in IV therapy
• Experience managing ventilated patients
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Criminal background check within 12 months, including SSN trace, 7-year county residence/work history, nationwide search, and sex offender search
• Missouri-specific Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) registration and EDL search required prior to start
• Negative drug screen within 12 months of start
• Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health
• Fit mask testing to be completed onsite during orientation (annual requirement)
• TB test (PPD, Qgold, or TSPOT) within 12 months; chest X-ray within 5 years if prior positive PPD
• Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season
• OSHA Respirator Clearance required prior to start for fit testing
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and training, including ICU/CCU AbioMed Impella Online Training (annual update required)
• Photo for badge (passport style, plain background)
• Signed confidentiality, security agreements, and standards of ethical conduct prior to start
• Post-start orientation checklists to be completed during orientation

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not required
• Night shift schedule with every other weekend coverage
• Navy scrubs are the uniform requirement for this position
