CVOR Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Springfield, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (6:15 AM - 4:45 PM)
- Average Daily Census: 10 patients, 4 rooms/beds
- On-Call: Required 1-2 nights per week and every 5th weekend
- Floating: May be required to float within scope to meet facility needs
- Schedule Flexibility: Open to block schedule requests (discuss with manager)
- Locals Accepted: Yes, no radius restrictions
- Guaranteed Hours: Client may cancel up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay; on-call shifts count as called-off shifts
- Charting System: Cerner
- Parking: Permit required, no cost
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Minimum 3 years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Operating Room (OR) experience
Required Background and Health Documentation
- Background checks covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including:
- SSN trace, counties, states, national criminal, sex offender, FACIS Level 3
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days prior to start
- Education verification (initial degree verification required)
- Illinois-specific searches including:
- Department of Corrections inmate search
- Most Wanted search
- State Police Murderer and Violent Offender Against Youth Registry
- Illinois Healthcare Worker Registry fingerprinting required for clinical candidates without an IL license (must be done in Illinois, 3 business days prior to start)
- Competency exam required for all clinical candidates
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by appropriate healthcare provider, confirming good physical and mental health and ability to perform job functions
- Fit mask test required (specific mask types accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- TB questionnaire updated annually
- Immunizations or documentation for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually by November 30
Additional Information
- Scrub color provided for this role
- Badge photo required within one week of signing contract (color photo, mid-shoulders up, plain background)
- Code of conduct review and signature required within 7 days of contract signing
- Parking permit form must be completed within 7 days of contract signing (unless using alternative transportation)
- Computer-based learning modules must be completed by 4 PM CST on first day of orientation; failure to complete results in one-week delay of start date
- References: Two professional references required for all direct travel, allied, per diem, and acute care clinical candidates
