Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Location: Baraboo, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Night shift, 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Schedule includes every other weekend required
• Primary responsibilities include labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
• May be required to float to other units to assist as a sitter or provide additional support
• Required to be on call during low census shifts
• Scrubs provided

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
• One completed travel nursing assignment
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications:

  • BLS issued by the American Heart Association
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Postpartum care experience
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Criminal background check within 12 months, including SSN trace, 7-year county and nationwide search, sex offender search
• Wisconsin Caregiver Screening required prior to start
• Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health
• Negative drug screen within 12 months of start
• TB test (PPD, Qgold, or TSPOT) within 12 months; chest x-ray within 5 years if prior positive PPD
• Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season
• COVID vaccination series preferred
• OSHA Respirator Clearance required prior to start for fit testing
• Fit testing completed onsite during first week of orientation; candidate must provide fit test record
• Completion of required facility-specific orientation modules and documents prior to or during orientation
• Photo for badge (passport style, plain background) required
• References: Two professional references required for new candidates

Additional Notes

• Candidates must complete all required compliance modules annually
• Post-start orientation checklists must be completed and submitted within the first week
• Some shifts may require on-call availability
• Candidates must comply with all facility-specific confidentiality, security, and ethical conduct agreements

This position offers a structured night shift schedule with a focus on comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care in a hospital setting. Prior travel experience and specific certifications are mandatory to qualify.
