Job Details
- Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Schedule: Every other weekend, no call
- Electronic Health Record (EHR): Cerner OneChart
- Uniform: Blue scrubs
- Holiday Commitment: Must work both July 4th and Labor Day
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kansas
- Minimum of 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Completion of MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
- Background Checks:
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 30 days of assignment start; updated annually or after breaks in service over 90 days
- EPLS check within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service > 90 days
- Drug Screening: 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start; updated annually or after breaks in service over 90 days
- Health Requirements:
- Ascension Color Vision test completed prior to start and updated every 3 years
- Fit Test (preferred before start, can be completed onsite; updated annually)
- Documentation of vaccinations or immunity for MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, and Tdap (no declinations accepted for MMR, Varicella, or Tdap)
- Influenza vaccine is optional; if declined during flu season, mask wearing is required
- TB screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes; if positive, chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire required
- Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- Competency and Skills Testing:
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.) with minimum 80% passing score; updated every 3 years
- Ascension EKG Exam with minimum 80% passing score; updated every 3 years
- Ascension Skills Checklist completed within one year of start; updated annually
- Cerner test-out and training checklist with signed attestation required prior to clearance
- Onboarding Documentation:
- Signed assignment agreement and contract worker onboarding completed onsite
- Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start; updated if break in service > 90 days
- Employment verification for past 7 years; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days
- Driver’s license or state ID current and matching address requirements
- Badge photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations)
- Completion of pre-hire modules including Nova StatStrip and MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training
Additional Notes
- Must start on or before June 8th to qualify for elevated rate
- Optional unit-specific checklist may be required by unit leader within one week of start
- Hiring manager evaluation and name change documentation are optional and not required for onboarding
