Overview
- Travel/Contract role in Columbus, Ohio
- 13-week contract
- Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:30
- 36 hours per week
- Level III NICU caring for neonates from 22 weeks gestation and above
- Focus includes respiratory distress, glucose management, and neonates requiring surgery or cardiac interventions
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care (1 year of experience)
- NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience within the last year
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience working with NICU Level 3 patients
- Experience working with NICU Level 4 patients
- Experience with arterial line management
- Experience with central line care
- Competency in cardiovascular dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Proficiency in gastrointestinal feeding methods and management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes
- Expertise in infection control measures and IV therapy, including umbilical artery and vein catheter management
- Experience with ventilator settings and adjustments (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
Preferred
- Prior experience at Nationwide Children's Hospital will be given special consideration
Unit / Clinical Details
- NICU care includes respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and infectious disease management
- Common procedures include arterial line management, central line care, and neonatal abstinence syndrome interventions
- Ventilator management includes AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP
- Uses Pyxis medication system and EPIC for documentation
- Multidisciplinary support includes NP, interpretation services, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, respiratory services, social services, and unit secretary
