Overview

• Travel/contract RN role in Roanoke, Virginia
• Day shift: 4x10s, 7:30 AM–6:00 PM, with call
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Up to 26 weeks available by request

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• Cardiac Cath Lab (1 year of experience)
• Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience with cardiac catheterization procedures including left heart catheterization (LHC), right heart catheterization (RHC), percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA), stent placement, atherectomy, temporary pacemaker insertion, Impella, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), Watchman, and Mitraclip procedures
• Scrub experience in cardiac catheterization lab
• Dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation
• Hemodynamic monitoring
• Experience in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization lab settings using fluoroscopy
• Experience with Epic

Scheduling and Call

• Each clinician must take 7 on-call shifts and 5 late shifts within every 6-week period
• One full weekend of call must be scheduled together during each 6-week period
• One Saturday shift for elective cases is required during each 6-week period
• Must be able to return to the hospital within 30 minutes when called
• Must be available to work or take call one holiday per 13-week contract
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks

Clinical Setting

• Adult cath lab with 6 procedure rooms and a daily census of 15–20
• Common cases include coronary artery disease, valve disorders, heart failure, and atrial septal defect/patent foramen ovale closures
• Advanced procedures include TAVR, left atrial appendage closures, Cardiomems, thrombectomy, mitral clips, renal denervation, and research protocols
