Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse
Location: Orange, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12 hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:30)

Job Description
Seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to work 16-hour shifts in a large acute care hospital setting. This role requires the ability to circulate during procedures and work weekends that may exceed every other weekend to meet unit needs. Scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered. Travel pairs are not accepted.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license in California
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Minimum 2 years or more of total travel nursing experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Must be able to circulate in the Labor and Delivery setting

Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Immunizations and health documents including:
- TDAP (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Respirator medical clearance (RespSafety) required annually for travel staff
- Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years
- Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
Additional Training and Competency Requirements
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification (AWHONN or NCC-EFM) or completion of Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring Assessment exam
- Medication and pharmacology competency exams as applicable
- Annual completion of facility and specialty-specific WorkRamp training modules, including:
- Regulatory requirements
- Specialty-specific modules for Labor and Delivery
- Regional core modules
- Epic system training modules completion required prior to working
Scheduling and Work Conditions
- Guaranteed hours with the facility having the ability to call off once per pay period
- Local radius for assignment is 50 miles
- No travel pairs or scheduling accommodations for outside employment
- Weekend shifts may be required more frequently than every other weekend
This position is ideal for experienced Labor and Delivery RNs with prior travel experience who are ready to work in a fast-paced, large hospital environment with Magnet recognition. All required certifications and competencies must be current and verifiable.
