Location: Abilene, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: 4x10 hour nights (8:00 PM - 6:30 AM, Friday through Monday)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Seeking an MRI Technologist to perform MRI imaging procedures.

Required Qualifications

• MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• Valid Texas Medical Board MRT license
• ARRT certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Experience

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
• Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume entry-level to moderate experience acceptable (based on typical MRI Tech roles)
• No prior travel experience explicitly required

Work Schedule

• Night shift, 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (Friday through Monday)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

Candidates must complete and maintain the following:

Background Checks

• 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Federal and state-specific checks including SSN, counties, national databases, and sex offender registry
• Education verification (transcript or diploma acceptable)
• State-specific employability and misconduct registry checks (Texas)

Certifications and Competencies

• BLS and ACLS (AHA approved)
• Other certifications as applicable (e.g., PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM) depending on facility requirements
• Medication/pharmacology competency exams as applicable
• Pass/fail testing for telemetry nurses (if applicable)

Health Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing
• Fit mask test (3M 1860 Regular or 1860S), updated annually
• Immunizations and titers:

  • TDAP (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines)
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen including THC within 10 business days prior to start; no pending results allowed
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (with religious or medical exemptions accepted)

Facility-Specific Documents

• Various acknowledgments and agreements including vaccination, TB and occupational exposure, patient-centered pledge, confidentiality, compliance, and security agreements
• Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment, updated annually
• Skills checklist updated annually
• Employment application and references (2 references within 3 years)

Additional Notes

• Candidates must have government-issued photo ID and valid driver's license or state ID
• Must complete all required documentation and verifications prior to start date
• Orientation includes mandatory modules (~3-4 hours)
• Parking available for orientation and employment
