Job Opportunity: Infusion Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Orange, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Overview

  • Position: Infusion RN
  • Schedule: 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts (Monday-Friday), Wednesday off
  • Patient Care:
    • 70% Oncology-based therapy
    • 30% Blood transfusion, IVIG, hydration, iron therapy
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4
  • Floating: Required to float between like units
  • Weekend shifts: Not required
  • Block scheduling: Possible, at manager's discretion
  • First-time travelers accepted only if they have chemotherapy certification and 2+ years of experience

Required Experience

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (Infusion/Oncology)
  • Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years (preferred 1-2 years, but 2+ years required for first-timers)
  • Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

  • Drug Screening: 10-panel within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
  • Immunizations and Health Documents:
    • TDAP (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) within 10 years or declination
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Flu vaccine during flu season or declination
    • COVID vaccine or declination
  • Respirator Safety Clearance (RespSafety) for travel starts on or after 2/5/2024
  • Background Check: Must be completed within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • Education Verification: Required for nursing degree
  • Employment Application: Must include last 5 years of employment with explanations for gaps/overlaps
  • References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years

Additional Notes

  • Pending licenses are not accepted
  • Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off once per two-week pay period
  • Local radius: 50 miles (for local rate considerations)
  • Photo for badge required prior to start
  • Must complete required WorkRamp modules and Epic training as assigned
  • Float policy acknowledgment required
