Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (Travel/Contract)
Location: New Orleans, Louisiana

Job Description
- Candidate may be assigned to an "Emergency Team" during emergency events, requiring staying at the facility until the event passes or serving as part of a relief team.
- On-call required with a 30-minute response time.
- Rotating weekends required.
- Scrub experience required.
- Neuro Interventional Radiology (Neuro IR) experience required.
- Accepting candidates with 1 year of experience only if they have neuro and scrub experience.
- Otherwise, a minimum of 2 years of experience is required.
Required Experience
- Specialty Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years (or 1 year if neuro and scrub experience is demonstrated).
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required.
Licensure & Certifications
- Must apply for Allied Health licensure within 72 hours of signing the contract.
- Active Louisiana state license or Compact license required upon submission.
- Background checks including 7-year criminal background, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and sex offender search required.
- Education verification required if no state license.
- Required certifications (AHA or RQI accepted):
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Additional certifications may be required depending on unit assignment; confirm with program management if unclear.
Compliance & Health Requirements
- Current/valid Driver’s License or government photo ID (color copy).
- Physical exam within 12 months indicating good health.
- Fit mask testing (N95) within one year of start; onsite fit testing available if needed.
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start.
- Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
- TB (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot within 12 months)
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Tdap (for certain departments)
- Seasonal flu vaccination, declination, or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 30).
- COVID-19 medical or religious exemption forms available if applicable.
Additional Requirements
- Skills checklist updated annually.
- Employment application/resume required with 7 years of employment history and explanations for gaps.
- Photo for badge: full color, passport-style, taken within last 6 months.
- Competency exam specific to specialty required annually.
- Color blind testing required for lab staff.
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required for some specialties; not required for ICU.
Important Notes
- Candidates uncomfortable with emergency team assignments should not apply.
- Emergency preparedness checklist required for assignments during hurricane season (June 1 - Nov 30).
- Backfill position available ASAP.
