Registered Nurse - Wound Care

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Day, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
• Guaranteed 40 hours per week
• Weekend requirement: 1 shift every 6 weeks
• No on-call duties
• Floating within scope of practice to meet facility needs is required
• Local radius rule: 75 miles (locals not accepted)
• Pending license accepted
• Return-to-Office restrictions: 7 days within 13-week contract
• Special requirement: Experience with Peritoneal Dialysis
• Unit accepts first-time travelers

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri (pending license accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of wound care experience within the last year
• Wound Ostomy Care certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Job Responsibilities

• Perform wound care including VAC and dressing changes
• Act as a rover for wound photography
• Provide care within scope and float as needed
• Adhere to facility policies including uniform and hygiene standards (navy scrub color, no artificial nails)
• Charting using EPIC electronic medical records system

Facility & Work Environment

• Acute care hospital setting with 233 staffed beds
• Parking provided at no cost
• Strict adherence to facility policies on dress code, hand hygiene, and fingernail standards

Additional Notes

• Candidates must provide a government-issued ID (driver’s license required for home health roles)
• Fingerprinting required for assignments involving long-term care or rehab units in Illinois
• All required documents and certifications must be current and uploaded prior to start
• Candidates must complete mandatory facility-specific training and sign HIPAA, confidentiality, latex allergy, and other compliance forms annually
• No block scheduling accommodations available

This position is suitable for RNs with wound care experience seeking a travel contract in Missouri with a reputable acute care hospital. First-time travelers are welcome.
