ICU Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: New Haven, Connecticut
Shift: Nights (3 shifts of 12 hours each, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU), with floating to Progressive Care Unit (PCU), other ICUs, and SRC campus as needed
• Average patient ratio: 1:3 (days, nights, weekends)
• Call: No
• Every Other Week (EOW) coverage required
• Facility type: Short Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma Center
• Charting system: Epic
• Parking cost: $125/month

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Connecticut
• Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Background and Compliance

• 7-year criminal background check (including SSN trace, counties lived/worked, national sex offender, federal checks) within 12 months of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Education verification including foreign equivalency evaluation if applicable
• Transcript or diploma verification as needed
• Sex offender search required
• Employment application with 7-year work history and no gaps >90 days
• Work history verification for last 7 years (attestations not accepted)
• One supervisor reference within past year required for Cardio Thoracic ICU; standard references for other units
• Attestation of prior radiation exposure if applicable (not typical for ICU)

Additional Information

• Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are accepted
• Floating to other units as needed
• No call responsibilities
• Must provide photo ID matching legal name on first day
• Epic experience encouraged; optional EPIC testing available before orientation
• Flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/1 - 3/31)
• COVID vaccination preferred but not required
