Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (Travel/Contract)
Location: Athens, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Day (5x8 hours), 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Job Description
- Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
- Work Settings: Interventional Radiology (IR), Emergency Room (ER), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Operating Room (OR)
- Facilities include: 1 IR suite, 1 OR hybrid room, and 1 multi-purpose room supporting IR and Vascular surgeons
- Average daily census: 15-20 patients
- Electronic systems used: Epic, Pyxis
- Scrub color provided by facility
- Floating within facility/scope of practice as needed
- Weekend schedule: Every other weekend
- Call requirements: Weekend call coverage Friday night through Monday morning every 5-6th weekend
- Holiday work expectations:
- If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, expected to work it
- If 2 major holidays fall, expected to work both
- If 3 major holidays fall, expected to work 2 of them
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
- Return to Office (RTO) maximum: 7 days
Contract Length
- Approximately 14 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Interventional Radiology Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience
- Experience working as an Interventional Radiology Technologist within the last year
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT(R) (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Radiography)
Licensure
- Must hold a valid State of Georgia license appropriate for Radiology specialty
Clinical Screening
- Candidates will undergo a clinical screen to determine clinical fit before final manager approval
Required Documentation and Compliance
- Background check completed within 30 days prior to start, including:
- County, national, and nationwide criminal searches
- Sex offender registry check
- Education verification of related degree
- Education verification required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start)
- Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months (with specific requirements if history of positive TB)
- Annual TB questionnaire required regardless of TB status
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or documentation of immunity:
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titer with booster plan if needed
- Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer with booster plan if needed
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
- Flu vaccine or signed declination (required during flu season)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days prior to start (includes amphetamines, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, cocaine, opiates, methadone, PCP, propoxyphene, THC)
- Color blindness test required; alternative assessment available if needed
Additional Requirements
- Skills checklist updated within 12 months
- Work history verification of most recent employer (can be pending at start with proof in process)
- Two clinical references required
- Candidate must review and sign facility-specific Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start

- First-time travelers accepted
- Locals accepted at same rate
- Non-billable orientation hours depend on contract length
- Clinical remediation is not allowed for competency exams, but work-based remediation is permitted
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain units; failure after three attempts results in cancellation
