NICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Nights (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Schedule: Weekend-only position (Saturday & Sunday) plus 1 weekday night shift
Holiday coverage required


Job Description

  • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse role
  • Immediate start
  • Float required to other NICU departments and sister campuses within a 12-mile radius
  • Minimal to no Return to Office (RTO) allowed (must be included in contract)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Georgia
  • Minimum 2 years of recent NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care) experience, including experience within the last year
  • One completed travel nursing assignment
  • Experience in Level III or IV NICU required; if Level III, must be from a larger facility
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
  • Social Security Card
  • E-Verify proof or attestation
  • Background check within 30 days of start (7-year criminal check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals
  • Nursing degree from an accredited college
  • NURSYS verification required for all RNs
  • Proof of OSHA, HIPAA, and Joint Commission annual training or signed attestation
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required to be updated annually)
  • Fit mask (N95) test within 12 months of start; must be 3M N95 (sizes 1860, 1860 Small, 1870, 1870+)
  • Tdap vaccine required (no declinations accepted)
  • Negative TB test (Qgold or Tspot within 3 months of start; PPD not accepted) or chest X-ray if positive TB history
  • Immunity documentation for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella (positive titer or vaccination series)
  • Hepatitis B immunity proof or declination
  • 10-panel drug test including nicotine/cotinine within 60 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required for current season (no exemptions)
  • Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
  • Completed employment application/resume
  • Updated skills checklist for applicable unit (annual update required)

Additional Notes

  • Strict weekend-only availability is mandatory; candidates unwilling to work weekends will not be considered
  • Float assignments include other NICU units and sister campuses within a 12-mile radius
  • Holiday shifts are required as part of the assignment
  • Candidate personal information (name, DOB, SSN) must be updated in the candidate profile system prior to submission

This position is ideal for experienced NICU RNs with recent travel nursing experience who are available for weekend night shifts and holiday coverage in a Level III/IV NICU setting.
