Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Camden, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (ER)
  • Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (11:00 AM – 11:00 PM)
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • On-call: No
  • Float: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
  • Patient Ratios: Based on acuity
  • Guaranteed Hours: Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in South Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Certifications (American Heart Association only):
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
    • NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale Certification)

  • Acute Care Hospital with 119 staffed beds
  • Charting system: Epic

  • Block scheduling requests require manager approval
  • Hurricane season (June–November) may require assignment to emergency response teams; avoid new or extension contracts during peak months (August–September) if this is a concern

  • NURSYS license verification required
  • Physical exam within 90 days of start, updated annually, confirming ability to meet job demands without restrictions
  • Drug screen: 10-panel urine test within 90 days of start
  • Immunizations and titers required or proof of vaccination/declination for:
    • Tdap (within 10 years or declination form)
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters if low titer)
    • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days or appropriate follow-up if positive
  • Annual TB questionnaire completion required
  • Flu vaccine or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Aug 1 – Mar 31); declinations not accepted
  • COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; if declined, must complete vaccination declination form
  • Respirator medical clearance required annually via virtual questionnaire
  • Proof of 2 clinical references, including at least one from the unit of assignment
  • Employment history verification for last 3 clinical employers (or all if fewer than 3)
