Oncology Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Springfield, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Specialty: Oncology Registered Nurse (RN)
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:45 - 07:15)
Average Daily Census: 24 patients (24 rooms/beds)
Weekend Requirement: Work every other weekend
Floating: May float within scope as needed
Schedule Flexibility: Block schedule requests can be discussed with manager
Local Candidates: Accepted with no radius restrictions

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Illinois
Hematology/Oncology experience of at least 1 year within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
Continuous infusion of chemotherapy
Management and disposal of cytotoxic spills
Oral administration of chemotherapy
Care and management of ports
Central line blood draw
Central line/implanted line care
PICC line care
Starting IVs

Additional Requirements

Background Checks: Comprehensive background checks required within 30 days of start, including criminal, sex offender, and national databases
Health Documents:
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming good physical and mental health and ability to perform job functions
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity: MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella
- 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Annual flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required by November 30
- Fit mask test required (specific mask types accepted)
Competency Exam: Required for all clinical candidates
References: Two professional references required for travel and acute care candidates
Photo for Badge: Color photo required before start
Parking: Permit required, no cost
