Registered Nurse - Operating Room (OR)

Location: Louisville, Kentucky

Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room, you will be responsible for providing safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care. You will assess, develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans while promoting quality outcomes and customer satisfaction. The role includes supervising licensed and non-licensed staff, mentoring and precepting team members, and participating in quality and safety improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Perform patient assessments and reassessments, making sound independent decisions.
Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
Provide and evaluate education tailored to patient and family needs during the stay and at discharge.
Delegate tasks appropriately and foster teamwork.
Identify opportunities for improvement and participate in practice governance and regulatory compliance.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing
Acute Care nursing experience

Additional Information

This position requires adherence to evidence-based practice and participation in a Practice Governance framework.
Prior travel experience is not specified as a requirement.
