Overview

• Travel RN role in Cortez, Colorado.
• Day shift: 6a–6p.
• 36 hours per week.
• Contract length: 13 weeks.
• Start date: 11/16.
• The role requires experience in Labor and Delivery and willingness to train in Nursery and Recovery.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Colorado.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• BLS.
• Labor and Delivery (1 year of experience).
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year.
• Ability to interpret fetal heart rate strips.
• Experience with fetal monitoring.
• Experience with NST.
• Experience with epidural.
• Experience with critical drips.
• Experience with rapid sequence intubation.
• Experience with CVP and A-line monitoring.
• Experience with ventilator/BiPAP.
• Experience with advanced cardiac monitoring.
• Experience with rapid infuser.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• ICU/Inpatient experience.
• Additional languages.

Unit / Clinical Scope

• Family Birthing Center responsibilities include antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care, fetal monitoring, newborn care from delivery to discharge, procedural sedation, rapid sequence intubation, advanced cardiac monitoring, NST, rapid infuser, epidural, critical drips, induction, trauma alert, CVP and A-line monitoring, ventilator/BiPAP, hearing screening, pre-term care, infant security, EMTALA, CCHD screening, and phototherapy.
• The role also includes ICU-related responsibilities.

Skills and Work Expectations

• Must communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Strong communication, active listening, customer service, organizational, and basic computer skills are expected.
• The role involves telemetry monitoring and basic arrhythmia interpretation.
• The nurse may supervise non-professional staff, assist physicians, participate in education and drills, and support other departments as needed.
• The work environment may include exposure to infectious waste, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, foul odors, moderate to loud noise, aggressive patients, and weather exposure.
• Physical demands include heavy lifting, frequent movement, talking, hearing, and color vision.
