Overview

• Travel assignment in Springfield, Missouri
• Main OR
• 3 openings
• Days, 4x10, scheduled between 6:30a-5p
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 13-week assignment

Required Qualifications

• Surgical Technologist (1 year of experience)
• Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• Experience in a(n) Hospital setting
• Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications

• CORST licensure
• Level 1 trauma experience with multiple years of experience

Schedule / Call

• Weekend hours as required by facility
• Call required any day scheduled, averaging around 5 or less per 8 weeks
• May be required to work differing schedules, shifts, days of the week, or work frequency according to patient requirements
• On-call shifts required

Unit / Work Environment

• Main OR with 22 beds, ASC with 8 beds, and Ortho with 10 beds
• Patient ratio: 1:1
• Patient population ranges from outpatient to critical care inpatient
• Uses DaVinci robotic equipment
• EPIC is used for the EMR

Role Details

• Provides direct patient care under the direct supervision of the surgeon and circulating Registered Nurse
• Sets up surgical cases in multiple specialty disciplines
• Performs sterile field maintenance, instrument/sponge/sharp counts, and assists OR staff as needed
• Serves as a resource for newly hired Surgical Technicians and students from visiting Surgical Technology schools

Working Conditions

• Must be able to stand and walk most of the time on duty
• Must be able to lift and push patients on stretchers and lift/push equipment and instrument sets
• Requires working with contaminated instruments and equipment
• Requires strict adherence to Universal Precautions
• Fast-paced environment with occasional high-stress situations
