Cardiac Cath Lab Tech

Location: Ft. Walton Beach, Florida
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36 hours (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday)
Schedule: Self-scheduling with STEMI call approximately 10 to 12 days per month

Unit & Work Environment

• Unit: Cardiac Cath Lab
• Number of holding beds: 7
• Floating policy: Within Cardiac Cath Lab, Electrophysiology (EP), and Stress Lab
• Equipment used: GE Innova, Impella
• Documentation systems: MacLab, Meditech
• Procedures performed:

  • TAVR (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement)
  • PFO (Patent Foramen Ovale) closure
  • Atherectomy
  • PCI (Percutaneous Coronary Intervention)
  • Right/Left Heart Catheterization (R/LHC)
  • Impella/IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump) support
  • Implants
  • DCCV (Direct Current Cardioversion)
  • TEE (Transesophageal Echocardiogram)
• Dress code: Surgical scrubs provided by hospital
• Awards: Daisy Awards, Sunflower Awards
• Experienced staff and new technology available

Required Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Florida
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting

• The hospital is a 257-bed acute care facility with advanced cardiovascular services including open heart surgery and an accredited Advanced Primary Stroke Center.
• The facility offers a Cancer Care Center accredited by the Commission on Cancer.
