Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR)
Location: Denver, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Information
- Main OR with 14 operating rooms (including 1 Hybrid CV OR, 1 Cysto, and 12 multipurpose ORs)
- 408-bed hospital
- Staff includes approximately 60 full-time equivalents: OR RNs, CSTs, PCTs, Anesthesia Techs, Service Line Lead RN, Tech Service Line Coordinator, Clinical Charge RNs, Director, VP
- Day shift: 14-16 RNs and 14-16 CSTs, plus 2 Clinical Charge RNs
- Night shift: 1 Clinical Charge RN, 1 OR RN, 1 CST, with call teams for Neuro, CVOR, and General surgery
- Patient ratio: 1:1
- Equipment: Standard OR equipment, Stryker video systems
- Electronic Medical Record system: Meditech
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Colorado
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience
- Operating Room experience within the last year
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Acute care experience in a hospital setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience circulating and scrubbing in the OR
- Experience with Meditech EMR system
Typical Procedures Performed
- Angioplasty
- Appendectomy
- Biopsy
- Orthopedic and spine surgeries
- No transplant procedures
Work Schedule and On-Call
- Day shift hours: 7 AM to 5 PM
- On-call required 1 day per week from 5 PM to 7 PM
- Weekend on-call once every 6 weeks if the orthopedic surgeon is on-call
