Job Overview
- Acute Care RN providing care for patients undergoing cardiovascular and surgical services in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
- Unit size: 14 beds, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4 depending on patient acuity.
- Fast-paced environment focused on cardiac and cardiac surgery care, including post-operative open heart surgery, STEMI/NSTEMI, chronic ventilator patients, alcohol withdrawal, suicidal ideation, new BiPAP/CPAP patients, thoracotomies, and renal disease.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- 12-hour shifts, either 7 AM to 7 PM or 7 PM to 7 AM.
- 3 shifts per week required; option to schedule 4 shifts per week upon discussion.
- Floating to ICU preferred; floating to Medical-Surgical/Telemetry required (includes arterial lines and sheath pulls).
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit experience.
- Skills in EKG interpretation, IV cardiac medication administration, peritoneal dialysis, chronic ventilator care, chest tubes, epidural catheters, PCA pumps, transvenous pacing, arterial or venous sheath care/pulling.
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
- Active and in good standing Arizona RN license.
- Must pass a dysrhythmia exam with a minimum score of 80% within two attempts prior to contract signing.
