• 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Arizona
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ACLS
• BLS
• Med Surg / Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• Strong post-operative assessment skills

Preferred Qualifications

• ONS Chemo Provider Card

Schedule

• Self-scheduling
• 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period
• Holiday rotation
• Standby required

Unit Details

• MedSurg/Ortho unit
• 32 beds
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 4:1 on day shift, with 2 to 3 PCTs
• Charge nurse does not take an assignment
• Nurse aides are present on day shift only
• Common patient types include post-op colorectal, urological, bariatric, hepatobiliary, hysterectomy, breast reconstruction, and chemo/oncology patients
• Strong post-op assessment and time management skills are important
• May float to med/surg/tele units
• May need to help with chemo administration on or off the unit
• May need to prep rooms for overflow or double-bunking

Additional Notes

• Navy blue scrubs
• 2 shifts of unit orientation with a preceptor
• CPAP and high-flow equipment are used for palliative care patients only
