RN (Registered Nurse) — Nights

Location

• Prescott, Arizona

Contract

• 13 weeks
• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour shifts

Specialty

• Float pool assignment covering Med Surg Tele, PCU, and related inpatient holding areas

Required Qualifications

• Active state RN license
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• 2 years of experience in med/tele
• 1 year of PCU experience
• Must be able to interpret telemetry strips
• Must be able to manage titratable drips
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts before signing the contract

Schedule

• Nights
• Every other weekend
• Schedule is set by the scheduler and published 6 weeks out
• Travelers must be flexible
• May include holidays in the permanent staff rotation

Unit Details

• Charge nurse does not take assignments
• Nurse aides are used
• Monitor techs monitor PCU and Med Surg Tele
• Common drips include heparin, Cardizem, amiodarone, nitro, dopamine, dobutamine, and insulin
• Common patient types include geriatric, ortho, post-procedural, post-MI, post-cardiac cath, and CABG post-op patients

Orientation

• 8-hour general hospital orientation
• 12-hour shift on West Med Tele
• 12-hour shift on PCU at West

Additional Notes

• No call or standby requirement
• Solid-color professional scrubs; navy scrubs later required by guideline update
• Must be within 50 miles
• Not eligible if full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated CommonSpirit facility within the past year
