Registered Nurse (Cardiology/Interventional Radiology) - Contract

Location: Grand Island, Nebraska
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Contract Clinician
Shift: 10-hour day shifts, 5 days per week (Monday-Friday)
Hours per Week: 40
Call: Required, typically every other week on a Wednesday-to-Wednesday rotation

Job Summary

• Assess patient needs and plan care accordingly, consistent with patient treatment expectations.
• Execute therapeutic physician or nursing-initiated interventions and evaluate patient responses.
• Assist with procedures in the Invasive Cardiology / Interventional Radiology Labs, including:

  • Left heart catheterizations
  • Pacemaker insertions and generator exchanges
  • Loop recorder placements
  • PICC line insertions
  • Tube and drain placements
• Coordinate care with other disciplines through documentation and communication.
• Support unit-based activities to maintain a positive work environment.
• May float to other areas such as Emergency Room and inpatient nursing units when workload is light.
• Expected to assist in related imaging departments including CT, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, and MRI.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of a nationally accredited Nursing program.
• Minimum 1 year of Critical Care or Medical-Surgical RN experience.
• Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab RN experience.
• Active, unencumbered RN license in Nebraska or a compact state.
• Current BLS certification (AHA, ARC, or MTN).
• Current ACLS certification (AHA).

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology RN experience.
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and ECG interpretation skills.

Equipment and Systems Used

• Siemens Sensis reporting system
• Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
• GE Case Cart (stress machine)

Orientation and Training

• Initial training and orientation provided during the first few days after start date.
• Training covers procedural and safety measures unique to the facility, as well as equipment and supply usage.

Additional Information

• Dress code: Hospital-provided surgical scrubs.
• Candidate should ideally live within 50 miles of the location.
