Job Opportunity: RN ICU
Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Night Shift)
Job Description
- Work every other week (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH).
- Preferred experience in Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) and Neuro ICU, but not required.
- Will float to Neuro ICU and Burn ICU; patient assignments will be within your skill set.
- May be assigned patients in Medical/Surgical or Intermediate Care (IMC) units as needed.
- Floating may occur onsite or to other sites within a 40-mile radius.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including ICU experience within the last year
- Burn ICU experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Valid Driver’s License
Onboarding & Compliance Requirements
Professional Documentation
- Resume/Profile submission required.
- At least two professional references prior to first assignment.
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and other screenings within 90 days of start.
- Employment verification for the past seven years.
- Signed assignment agreement and onboarding attestations completed onsite.
Health & Safety
- Proof of immunizations and health screenings including:
- Two MMR vaccines or positive titer (no declinations accepted).
- Two Varicella vaccines or immunity verification (no declinations accepted).
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Tdap vaccination valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted).
- Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement).
- Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes, chest X-ray if positive, and annual TB questionnaire.
- Annual fit test for respiratory protection (3M 1860 Regular, Small, or 1870+).
- Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
- 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.
Competency & Testing
- Completion of specialty competency exams with minimum 80% passing score, including:
- Specialty exam updated every 3 years.
- EKG exam updated every 3 years.
- Core competencies covering HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, and other topics updated every 3 years.
- Epic electronic health record test-out and training checklist with signed attestation.
- Skills checklist completed within one year of start and updated annually.
Additional Notes
- Floating assignments may require travel within a 40-mile radius.
- Must have a valid, unexpired driver’s license or state ID matching address requirements.
- Onboarding includes photo badge submission (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no filters).
- All required documents and certifications must be current and verifiable prior to assignment start.
