Job Opportunity: RN ICU

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Night Shift)

Job Description

• Work every other week (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH).
• Preferred experience in Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) and Neuro ICU, but not required.
• Will float to Neuro ICU and Burn ICU; patient assignments will be within your skill set.
• May be assigned patients in Medical/Surgical or Intermediate Care (IMC) units as needed.
• Floating may occur onsite or to other sites within a 40-mile radius.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including ICU experience within the last year
• Burn ICU experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Valid Driver’s License

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

Professional Documentation

• Resume/Profile submission required.
• At least two professional references prior to first assignment.
• Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and other screenings within 90 days of start.
• Employment verification for the past seven years.
• Signed assignment agreement and onboarding attestations completed onsite.

Health & Safety

• Proof of immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Two MMR vaccines or positive titer (no declinations accepted).
  • Two Varicella vaccines or immunity verification (no declinations accepted).
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination.
  • Tdap vaccination valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted).
  • Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement).
  • Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes, chest X-ray if positive, and annual TB questionnaire.
• Annual fit test for respiratory protection (3M 1860 Regular, Small, or 1870+).
• Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
• 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.

Competency & Testing

• Completion of specialty competency exams with minimum 80% passing score, including:

  • Specialty exam updated every 3 years.
  • EKG exam updated every 3 years.
  • Core competencies covering HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, and other topics updated every 3 years.
• Epic electronic health record test-out and training checklist with signed attestation.
• Skills checklist completed within one year of start and updated annually.

Additional Notes

• Floating assignments may require travel within a 40-mile radius.
• Must have a valid, unexpired driver’s license or state ID matching address requirements.
• Onboarding includes photo badge submission (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no filters).
• All required documents and certifications must be current and verifiable prior to assignment start.
