Laboratory Medical Technologist (MLT) - Night Shift
Location: Fenton, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours per Day: 12
Job Description
- Perform medical laboratory tests, procedures, experiments, and analyses to assist in diagnosis, treatment, and disease prevention.
- Conduct chemical analyses of body fluids such as blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices to determine normal and abnormal components.
- Analyze blood cells by counting and identifying cells using microscopic techniques.
- Prepare blood, plasma, and platelets for transfusions by performing blood group, type, and compatibility testing.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including analyzers, spectrophotometers, colorimeters, and flame photometers; perform calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and inventory management.
- Manage laboratory supplies inventory by monitoring stock levels and placing orders as needed.
- Provide medical technology information and prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing laboratory findings.
- Maintain compliance with quality assurance and quality improvement standards.
- Adhere to infection control, hazardous waste, and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Identify and resolve problems related to laboratory operations.
- Participate in ongoing professional development through workshops, publications, and professional societies.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician, including experience within the last year.
- ASCP certification required.
- Must be able to work 12-hour night shifts.

- This position follows a local traveler policy considering candidates within a 35-mile radius as local.
- Compliance with all established laboratory and safety standards is mandatory.
