Laboratory Medical Technologist (MLT) - Night Shift

Job Description

• Perform medical laboratory tests, procedures, experiments, and analyses to assist in diagnosis, treatment, and disease prevention.
• Conduct chemical analyses of body fluids such as blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices to determine normal and abnormal components.
• Analyze blood cells by counting and identifying cells using microscopic techniques.
• Prepare blood, plasma, and platelets for transfusions by performing blood group, type, and compatibility testing.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including analyzers, spectrophotometers, colorimeters, and flame photometers; perform calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and inventory management.
• Manage laboratory supplies inventory by monitoring stock levels and placing orders as needed.
• Provide medical technology information and prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing laboratory findings.
• Maintain compliance with quality assurance and quality improvement standards.
• Adhere to infection control, hazardous waste, and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Identify and resolve problems related to laboratory operations.
• Participate in ongoing professional development through workshops, publications, and professional societies.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician, including experience within the last year.
• ASCP certification required.
• Must be able to work 12-hour night shifts.
