Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Elizabethtown, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• On-call after hours and weekend rotation
• Must be within 30 minutes of the hospital when on-call to cover Hybrid OR and emergent cases

Required Qualifications

• License: ARRT required (RCIS not accepted)
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (AHA)
  • BLS (AHA)
• Experience: Minimum years of experience not explicitly stated; assume standard for Cath Lab Tech in Radiology/Cardiology specialty
• Background Checks:

  • 7-year criminal background check (all locations lived/worked in past 7 years)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks required
  • Education verification matching specialty required
• Health Requirements:

  • Physical exam within 1 year (not required by facility but required by agency standards)
  • Fit mask test (annual)
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declination acceptable for non-clinical)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (annual update)
  • Baseline TB risk assessment within 90 days of start (annual update)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or IgG titer required, no declinations accepted
  • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer, series, or declination required
  • Varicella - 2 vaccines or IgG titer required, no declinations accepted
  • Negative 9-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required
• Other Requirements:

  • Kentucky Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry check
  • 2 professional references required (1 for non-clinical)
  • Unit-specific skills checklist (updated annually)
  • Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
  • Color blindness testing prior to start

Additional Notes

• Must be able to respond promptly when on-call for Hybrid OR coverage
• Driver’s license required if driving is a major job function
• Photo for badge required (shoulders up, solid light background)
• Facility-specific policies on flu and COVID exemptions apply
• Respiratory fit test waiver available for failed fit tests with medical or religious reasons

This position is ideal for experienced Cath Lab Techs with ARRT certification who are comfortable with on-call responsibilities and meet comprehensive health and background screening requirements.
