Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)
Location: Tucson, Arizona
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Orientation held twice a month.
- Auto offer with no return to origin (RTO) required.
- Float within scope of care/practice.
- Minimum 4 weekend shifts per month.
- Patient ratio approximately 1:6.
- EPIC experience required.
- No local candidates accepted.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Arizona.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience, with experience within the last year.
- Experience working with adult patients.
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system.
Certifications & Competencies
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or Red Cross only.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or American Red Cross only.
- NIH Stroke Certification (valid for 1 year).
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required for MS/Tele units.
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) or Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certificate.
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (passing score 80%+).
- HIPAA Competency (updated annually, passing score 80%+).
- Other certifications may be required based on unit assignment (e.g., ENPC for Pediatric ER).
Health & Background Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by physician, NP, or PA.
- Fit testing for N95 mask within 1 year of start.
- Immunizations and/or titers required for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (full vaccine within 10 years; declinations allowed except for certain units).
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer; no declinations).
- Hepatitis B (proof of 3 vaccines or positive titer; declinations allowed with signed form).
- Varicella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer; no declinations).
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 3 months of start.
- Drug testing (12 panel) must be started within 72 hours of booking and within 30 days of assignment start.
- Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 30) or approved medical/religious exemption with facility-specific form.
Additional Requirements
- Background checks including 7-year history, OFAC, National Sex Offender, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG must be completed within 30 days of start.
- Employment application with last 7 years of work history; gaps over 30 days must be explained.
- Two professional references from employment within 3 years, including one supervisory reference.
- Skills checklist updated annually.
- Facility-specific orientation sign-off required for RNs.
- Acknowledgment of pass/fail testing required for certain units.
