Overview

Travel/contract role in New Orleans, Louisiana
High-acuity ICU assignment
Patient ratio: 1:2
Float requirement to other ICUs and SDUs
Night shift: 4x12 hours, 18:45–7:15
Manager can accommodate 3x12s or 4x12s
No block scheduling requests

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Louisiana
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
SICU - Surgical Intensive Care experience
MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
MICU - Medical Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS
Experience with Epic

Clinical Experience / Skills

SICU experience with general post-op care for surgical recovery patients
Experience with continuous renal replacement therapy
Preferred experience with PA catheters and balloon pumps
CVICU exposure includes post-op CABG, valve replacement/repair, aortic dissection, IABP, and PA cath
Transplant recovery exposure includes liver, heart, lungs, kidney, and pancreas

Current valid government photo ID
7-year criminal background check
EPLS/GSA/SAM check
HHS/OIG check
Sex offender search
NURSYS verification
Physical exam within 12 months of start
Fit mask testing within 1 year of start
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months of start
Drug screen within 60 days of start
Measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella immunity/documentation
Flu season vaccination, declination, or exemption documentation when applicable
CLEAR enrollment for workforce identity verification
Photo for badge
Skills checklist and competency exam updates are annual requirements

Assignment Expectations

May be assigned to an emergency team during an emergency event and may need to remain at the facility until the event passes or serve on the relief team
Traveler must be comfortable reporting as assigned by the immediate unit manager during an emergency event
