Overview

• Travel/contract role in Madison, Wisconsin
• 13-week assignment
• Rotating 3x12 schedule, mostly days with occasional nights as needed
• Every other weekend required
• Navy blue scrubs

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Neuro PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
• Neuro PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Stepdown experience
• Telemetry experience
• PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
• DOU - Direct Observation Unit experience
• Stroke experience

Unit Details

• Busy stroke/neuro/trauma step-down unit
• Typical patient ratio is 1:4, but may be higher depending on resources
• Patient population includes stroke, neurosurgery, trauma, general med/surg, and IMC/step-down level of care
• Special procedures include lumbar drains and stroke education

Compliance / Onboarding

• Government-issued photo ID required
• E-Verify required
• Background check required before start
• Wisconsin caregiver screening required before start
• Wisconsin BID form required
• Skills checklist required
• OSHA respirator clearance required before start
• Fit testing completed onsite during the first week of orientation
• Respirator fit test form must be completed
• Confidentiality and security agreement must be signed before start
• Standards of ethical conduct and relevant policies must be signed before start
• Modules must be completed by the compliance due date
• Physical exam required within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray required within 12 months of start
• TB questionnaire required at start and annually
• Negative drug screen required within 12 months of start
• References required
• COVID vaccine documentation is preferred if available
• Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season

Important Notes

• Travelers must shave for mask fit testing
• CAPRs and PAPRs are not provided
• Personal PAPRs or CAPRs are not allowed
• Failure to shave for fit testing will result in cancellation
