Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (CCU)

Location: Columbia, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Job Description

  • Work in a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) setting with patient ratios typically 1:5-6.
  • Requires strong LTAC nursing skills including care for patients with tracheostomies, ventilators, and drips.
  • Every Other Week (EOW) schedule.
  • Local candidates considered same as travel.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Coronary Care Unit (CCU) experience within the last year.
  • Experience in a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) setting.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Proficient in tracheostomy (trach) care.
  • Skilled in ventilator (vent) management.

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Unexpired government-issued photo ID (e.g., driver’s license or state ID).
  • Background check within 1 year, including SS trace, county searches for last 7 years, nationwide sex offender search, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG checks.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Primary source verification of state license prior to start.
  • NURSYS verification prior to start.
  • Signed acknowledgment of facility safety and orientation manuals.
  • Photo for badge (clear, plain background).
  • Review and completion of facility-specific orientation, key policies, dress code, and onboarding forms.
  • Physical exam within 12 months prior to start.
  • Fit testing for N95 mask within the past year (updated annually).
  • Immunizations and health screenings including:
    • Tdap vaccine.
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months prior to start (2nd PPD can be done onsite if needed).
    • TB questionnaire within 6 months prior to start.
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer; exemptions apply for candidates born before 1957).
    • Hepatitis B series, positive titer, or declination.
    • Varicella immunity (2 vaccines, positive titer, or history of chickenpox).
    • Drug screen within 12 months prior to start.
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31).
    • COVID-19 vaccination or declination.
  • Two professional references within 3 years.
  • Completed employment application and skills checklist.
  • Missouri-specific electronic driver’s license search within 30 days prior to start.
