Registered Nurse – Step Down Unit (Travel/Contract)

Location: Dayton, Ohio
Shift: Night (4 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 19:00–7:30)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

Targeted patient ratios typically 1:4; may increase to 1:5-6
36 or 48-hour work weeks available; overtime paid after 48 hours
Floating required at employer’s discretion, including to nearby campuses within 15 miles
Must be available to work every other weekend and holidays
Employer may cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract due to low census
Contract cancellation possible with 2 weeks’ notice without penalty
Travel nurses are not eligible for employer employee incentives

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Ohio
Minimum 1 year of stepdown nursing experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Current ACLS certification
Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Experience with stable chronic ventilators
Experience with Epic electronic health record system
