Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech
Location: Kingsport, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 4x10 hour day shifts
- Includes 1-2 nights of call per week and one weekend every 4-5 weeks
- Must be able to scrub electrophysiology (EP) devices such as pacemakers (PM), implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), Micra devices, etc.
- Must be able to scrub and monitor diagnostic and complex interventional cases
- Some EP experience preferred; structural experience is a plus
- Experience with Siemens Sensis, Epic, and Philips systems preferred
- Traveler’s permanent residence must be at least 100 miles from the hospital’s service area
- Orientation begins on Mondays with online computer-based learning (CBL)
- Includes 16 hours of non-billable orientation
- Hospital may cancel or call off one shift biweekly without penalty due to census changes
- Additional shifts may be available as overtime and are flexible based on hospital needs
Required Qualifications
- Cath Lab Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
- AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to scrub electrophysiology (EP) devices such as pacemakers (PMs), implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), Micra devices, etc.
- Ability to scrub and monitor diagnostic and complex interventional cases, with some EP focus
Experience
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology

Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- Education verification required
- Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry check if licensed or working in Tennessee
- Drug screening: Standard 9-panel drug screen within 14 days of start
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) titers or vaccination documentation
- Varicella titer or vaccination documentation
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
- Respirator medical evaluation and fit testing completed onsite
- Photo for badge within 48 hours of contract signing
- Completion of facility-specific forms and acknowledgments (uniform guidelines, dress code, exposure statements, smoking policy, influenza policy, etc.)
Additional Notes
- Orientation includes 16 hours of non-billable training
- Hospital may flex shifts based on census without penalty
- Physical exam required within 1 year of start date
- Candidate must be able to start on any Monday after completing compliance documents
